Alabama Republicans are dismantling the Voting Rights Act.
This year, following the Supreme Court's decision in Louisiana v Callais, the Alabama GOP took the UNPRECEDENTED step of changing our Congressional maps less than six months before the Election. They VOIDED the results of the May 19th primary in four Congressional Districts, and they are making candidates and voters start all over again with a new primary to be held August 11. This move hurts Black voters and it hurts all Democrats in Alabama. But we don't have to go down without a fight.
If they want to fight dirty, we'll fight dirty.
So what's the move?
If we don't have a Democratic Primary, we're going to vote in the Republican Primary for the candidate that we want to beat in November.

What about the Radney Rule?
The Radney Rule can be found in the State Party Bylaws, though it isn't called that. Here's what it says on pages 27-28 of the bylaws as found HERE:
(f) Any elected public official who attained office as a nominee of the Democratic Party in Alabama, and any person who is a member of the State Democratic Executive Committee shall not be permitted to qualify as a candidate for public or Party office as a Democrat in any elections if, while holding such public or Party office, he or she did not support the nominees of the Democratic Party in all Special or General Elections during the past four years, or who can be shown to have campaigned for, endorsed, or contributed financially to any candidate opposing the Democratic nominee. No person shall be permitted to qualify as a candidate for nomination or election to public or Party office as a Democrat in any elections who did not support the nominees of the Democratic Party in all Special or General Elections during the past four years. (Amended September 15, 1983).
Lots of Democrats vote in Republican primaries, and the Radney Rule doesn't forbid such a thing because it doesn't apply to Primary Elections.
The Republicans tried to steal this election by voiding the results of the May 19 Primary & scheduling this "Special Primary" for August. We cannot sit idly by. We must fight fire with fire.
