Political elites and Corporate elites, on both sides of the aisle, have controlled Alabama for too long.

They have ignored the will of the people in favor of what makes them money and keeps them in power. We see that in gerrymandering, in tax policy, in the restrictions on local control, and in the inability of citizens to put forward ballot initiatives. If We The People want more power, we have to elect representatives who will fight for us and vote OUT representatives who seek power only for themselves and their wealthy friends.

Specifically , I intend to:

• Propose an amendment to the state constitution to give Alabamians the power to propose changes to the Constitution and vote on those proposals, without the legislature unfairly vetoing ideas.

• Propose an amendment to the state constitution to restore Home Rule to counties and municipalities.

• Pass new tax policy that gives the best rates to working families, not to corporations and the wealthy.

• Strengthen our Ethics laws to hold politicians accountable.

• Strengthen our Open Records Act so that public records are fully and quickly available to the public.

• Firmly oppose any attempt to make the Public Service Commission appointed rather than elected.
